A pot full of potential

The rich source of antioxidants, known as flavonoids, found in black and green tea is the key health property of tea. Antioxidants help fight against damaging free radicals, the rogue molecules that set off a slow chian reaction within the body to destroy cells and degenerate the body’s organs. Free radicals are also responsible for premature aging, weakening the immune system and the onset of many chronic diseases, including heart disease and cancer.

Beauty boost

Apart from quenching thirst and fueling our health from within, tea has also been used for centuries for its beautifying benefits. The rich source of antioxidants in green tea explains why it is used in many sunscreens, anti-ageing preparations, facial toners, shampoos and anti-cellulite preparations. The Japanese have always concocted teas that maintain a radiant complexion from within, and used tea to topically treat their skin and condition their hair.

Bathing ritual: in order order to reap even more benefits from tea, take to the bathtub and throw a couple of tea bags into running water to infuse. Green tea will both protect and preserve the skin.
